The divine Community unites in one accord in the redemptive mission. The Father expresses love for the Son and is well pleased with him, signifying that up to this point Jesus has faithfully lived a righteous life that is worthy of approval for the redemptive task that lays ahead. The Spirit adds to the Father's vocal approval a visual anointing of divine dove-descent upon the Son. The mission of invasion-redemption is therefore social in the highest archetypal sense because it is initiated by the triune Society of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit acting as one-the Father and Spirit honoring the Son as spokesman and redemptive agent on their behalf, and the Son honoring the Father and the Spirit as their faithful servant.
